Independent Play

Published by Courtney Ebner on Nov 11th 2019

We clearly love the topic of play! We love to talk about it, learn about it and well, take part in it. It’s fun to engage with children while they are playing, but just as important to encourage them to play independently. Some key benefits in allowing your children the space to play independently:

- It teaches them how to be self-reliant
- Fosters Creativity and Imagination
- Strengthens their thinking and focus capabilities
- Encourages Calm
- Develops Social Independence

Having toys that are engaging and age-appropriate can help to encourage this important skill. We’ve rounded up our favorites by age. And remember!!! DO NOT interrupt their play. Don’t even make eye-contact. Just let it flow and allow your child to concentrate without an audience.
